I’ll be perfectly honest with you, I didn’t and still don’t like Avengers World that much. This may or may not stem from the fact that John Hickman (and Nick Spenser) are writing for it. That and thus far? It’s been a pretty bland ride into the same-y “cataclysmic” events that seem pretty interchangeable with other world ending/changing events from other runs.
That being said, there have been some gems scattered throughout various issues and some semi-interesting characters thrown into the mix, but…well, I think I’ll always love how snarky Bruce gets and how done Maria Hill just is (with everything) but in my opinion there’s just not enough good or interesting conversations or story to really warrant a wholehearted recommendation.
However, the art, on the other hand, is actually good and might, probably, be the only reason I keep picking up the issues — I’ve always been a fan of Stefano Caselli’s art since Young Avengers/Runaways Civil War mini-series so I’m a sucker for comics he’s had his hands on.
Personally, I’d suggest finding a torrent of the first four issues and giving them a read because if your attention isn’t grabbed by the end of the fourth issue then it’s never really going to be, and you’d be better off continuing to torrent issues instead of wasting money at your LCS.
