He’s wearing a tight t-shirt that highlights his shoulder to waist ratio, dark low-slung jeans, and aviators. 

He’s picking up his kids from school: the same school that is adjoined to the high school where Tony happens to be visiting to kickstart his student engineering & entrepreneurship program. 

Tony, who’s just been able to get out of a particularly terrible relationship, flirts shamelessly with Steve, who flirts back, but doesn’t give him his number when Tony asks for it. 

Just as Tony’s about to try again, a redheaded woman comes by, Ian resting on her hip, and Jet holding her free hand. 

“We gotta go, or we’re gonna be late for Jame’s party,” Natasha says, as she hands Ian over to Steve. 

“Start the car, I’ll be right there." 

Tony watches the redhead walk away. “Well, this is awkward.” 

"Why?" 

"Uh… your wife over there…?" 

"Oh, no.  She’s just a friend.  She helps me out with my kids a lot." 

"So they are your kids?” Tony makes eye-contact with the child in Steve’s arms and can’t help but think of how utterly adorable the kid is. 

And how hot Steve looks holding him. 

"Yeah,” Steve says. “I’m sorry, but when you asked me for my number—" 

"You said ‘no’ because I didn’t know you had kids, right?" 

Steve looks bashful, but nods. 

"Well, now that I know,” Tony drawls, “would you give me your number if I ask again?”
