Beneath the cut isn’t nice but fuck it! I wanted to read some angst and instead got a lot of hypocritical bullshit and it has set my teeth to grinding.

Why does everyone and their mother conveniently forget that Tony wasn’t the only person that was an active member of the Illuminati? Because I haven’t seen a single piece of evidence that anyone else actually suffered any kind of “punishment”, especially in fanfic.

Shit was bad and bad things were done for good reasons, with intentions that were best, but the only one I’m seeing suffer any kind of actual consequences is Tony and that’s pissing me off something fierce.

And just why the fuck are half these fics using rape as a corrective tool? Because that’s how everyone is conveniently going to “punish” Tony because of the shit that happened to Steve and Steve’s all sorry and apologizes but still fucks Tony after that?

I love Tony angst, I do, but that was just disgusting. And there is absolutely NO JUSTIFICATION IN THE FUCKING WORLD that can ever excuse that; Steve dangled his forgiveness and trust like a carrot and made Tony submit to everyone on the Illuminati then fucks him afterwards all contrite and sobby.

Um, no. Get out. Tony is better off without a rapist in his life, thanks. And Tony sure as fuck didn’t deserve any of that for something the ENTIRE GROUP did.

No, fuck you. Stephen Strange wiped Steve’s mind. Tony was there, he told Stephen to do it, but fuck every single goddamn person who puts that squarely on Tony’s shoulders because GOOD JOB!! You just absolved every other goddamn person in that room of their part, in their agreement, to do that to Steve.

Tony’s guilty as fuck for his part in it and he broke Steve’s trust, but he sure as fucking hell was not the only one and when people (including the stupid fucking canker sores that write the comics) ignore the fact that Tony wasn’t alone in that decision and pit Steve against solely Tony for the mind wipe? Christ Almighty it makes me want to slap people bloody.

But all these fics and a good half of them make Tony get down on his knees or slam him on his back to make up for broken trust?

I’m just disappointed.
